Tips to get a great nights sleep:
- Avoid Caffeine
- Exercise
- Do not eat 3 hours before bed
- Avoid red meat
- Avoid Smoking (nicotine is a stimulant, although most people think it is a relaxing thing)
- Take a long bath
- Read a book
- Keep your bedroom cool
- Keep your Duvet clean
- Buy new pillows
- Consider using a mild sleep aid (not medicinal)
- Clear your head of work and money
- Put your phone on silent
- Turn off all the lights in the room, even small LED lights can damage your sleep quality
- Avoid thinking too much about how much sleep your getting (see pic, opens in new window)
- Stick to the same side of the bed, continuity helps you relax
- Get some earplugs!
- Avoid Alcohol - This can destroy your bodies recovery plan overnight
